Khuranj is a village located, 8 km east of Sangrur City on Sangrur-Patiala Road, in the Sangrur district of the State of Punjab.
There are 3 Historic Sikh Gurdwaras in or very near Khuranj.
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji visited this place during his tour of Malwa region in 1616 and stayed for sometime on the bank of a pond.
Guru Tegh Bahadur had travelled from the site of Gurdwara Sri Akoi Sahib.
Gurdwara Sri Jyotisar Sahib Patshahi Chevin is situated on the outskirts of village Khuranj.
Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji came here while on a tour of the Malwa region from Tour from the site of Gurdwara Sri Akoi Sahib. When Guru Hargobind entered the village Guru Ji was not noticed. Guru Hargobind was about to leave when Mai Karmo heard that Guru Ji was in the village.
Mai Karmo followed Guru Hargobind and asked him to stop and stay, saving the honour of the village. Guru Hargobind stopped at the site of this Gurdwara and sat under Beri Tree. Mai Karmo Ji and the Sangat bowed in front of Guru Hargobind and offered milk. Guru Hargobind blessed Mai Karmo with a son. The Beri Tree is still present in the Gurdwara complex.
