Gurdwara Sri Rantham Sahib is situated on the outskirts of Sarthali village in the Ropar district.
The villagers of Bajrur, a nearby village, were daku's (bandits) who used to rob the local Sangats.
When Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji came to Sarthali, Guru Sahib camped here at the site of Gurdwara Sri Rantham Sahib for 3 days and 3 nights.
Guru Gobind Singh and his Singh's fought and defeated the daku's. Afterwards, Guru Gobind Singh and his Singh's left for Basali village, about 7 km's away.
