This Gurdwara is also known as Gurdwara Guru Ka Dhora and is situated at a distance of 7.5 km's from Patti.

Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji while travelling from Kasur stayed here. It said that Guru Hargobind killed a troublesome tiger at this place.

Gurdwara Sri Jhar Sahib Kairon also marks the site of a visit of Sri Guru Arjan Sahib Ji during Guru Ji's travels through the Majha region.

Guru Arjan stayed for a short time. According to local tradition, the karir tree (Capparis aphylla) to which the Guru's horse was tethered was still standing until 1976 when it was uprooted and destroyed in the construction work undertaken to renovate the building originally built in 1925.

This is a clear example of the negligence, gross dereliction of duty, ineptitude, carelessness and reckless disregard Gurdwara custodians show.

The present building is a marble floored hall, with the sanctum in the middle and a verandah all around. North of the hall is a small octagonal sarovar. The Gurdwara is maintained by the local sangat.
