Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji arrived in Mehal Kalan from village Littran.
At the time the surrounding area was covered with dense bushes and trees. The villagers did not welcome Guru Hargobind.
After resting for a while Guru Hargobind made preparations to leave. A villager named Karaha Mal had heard that Guru Hargobind was nearby and so he went to serve Guru Hargobind and provide food and water.
Guru Hargobind was pleased with the service of Karaha Mal and said that Karaha's pots (karahe) would always remain full ie. he would prosper.
Guru Hargobind explained that the first prayer at this place would go unanswered and that subsquent prayers would be heard. The villagers found this to be true.
Bhai Hari Singh and Baba Kaul Das of Mehal Kalan left their lands to the Gurdwara.
