In 1631, Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji arrived here at the site of Gurdwara Sri Gurusar Sahib Lopon.

The Sangat served Guru Hargobind with great respect and devotion. Guru Hargobind asked the Sangat about their welfare.

The Sangat said that some of the villagers were struggling with an illness. Guru Hargobind used Gurbani as a cure and said that with sewa the illness would stay away.

The Gurdwara is said to have been constructed by Giani Indar Singh of Bhindran in 1960. The present building is a spacious rectangular hall, at the far end of which is the domed sanctum.

The Gurdwara is managed by a Granthi appointed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee and assisted by a local committee.

An annual fair is held from 1st to 3rd August, now corresponding to 17 to 19 Savan, to celebrate the anniversary of Guru Hargobind's visit to Lopon.
