Gurdwara Sri Burj Sahib Dhariwal is located east of the growing town of Dhariwal, in Gurdaspur District of Punjab.
Sri Guru Arjan Sahib Ji visited the village of Barth to meet Baba Sri Chand. Guru Sahib had discussions with Sri Chand and then returned to Amritsar.
While travelling back to Amritsar, Guru Sahib stopped at Dhariwal, where Gurdwara Sri Burj Sahib Dhariwal stands. At the time, there was a dense forest and a small pond here.
When the news of Guru Ji's arrival spread, the villagers gathered around. Guru Arjan Sahib Ji told the people of the importance Naam Simran and Vand Shako (share with others).
Within the Sangat there was one person with leprosy. The man asked Guru Ji, to help him get rid of the disease. Guru Arjan asked him to take bath in pond and take mud out of it and put in the place where the Gurdwara Sahib is situated. The man did so and his disease was cured.
The villagers also took out the mud from the pond and made a burj with the earth and so the name of the Gurdwara became Gurdwara Sri Burj Sahib Patshahi Panjvi.
