Statement submitted before the Nanavati Commission

Name : Surinder Singh

Age : 52 Years

Occupation : Head Granthi of Gurdwara Moti Bagh, New Delhi.

Address : A-4, Staff Qtrs, Gurdwara Rakab Ganj, New Delhi.

I am shown the affidavit filed by me before this Commission. It bears my signature.

Cross examination by S.S. Gandhi, Senior Advocate on behalf of Delhi Police

It is not true that the policemen had instigated the mob like Jagdish Tytler. They had told the mob to go ahead. The police had not recorded my statement. I was not examined as a witness in any of the case. I had not filed any affidavit earlier stating the facts, which are now stated in my affidavit.

I do not know if the police had registered FIR No.316 of 1984 , Police Station Bara Hindu Rao on 1.11.84 regarding the incident mentioned in para – 3 of my affidavit. I do not know if I was cited as a witness in that case.
