1984 Statements

Statement submitted before the Nanavati Commission

Witness No. 133

Name : Santok Singh

Age : 33 Years

Occupation :

Address : House No.217, Street No.10, Vishnu Garden, New Delhi.

On SA

In addition to my affidavit, which I have filed before this Commission I say that Ch. Charan Singh was the Congress leader of our area. The white jeep which I have referred to in paragraph 2 of my affidavit was the one in which Sajjan Kumar had come earlier when there was a programme in our locality. I use to see that jeep often in my area.

I say that the mob consisted of persons from Haryana as they were speaking a particular dialect spoken by the people / jats of Haryana. Sajjan Kumar was the Member of Parliament of our area at that time. The Gurdwara was set on fire with the petrol which they had brought in white jeep. I had seen that about 15 to 16 persons were burnt alive in the F -Block.

Cross examination by S.S. Gandhi, Senior Advocate on behalf of Delhi Police deferred

No Cross examination by Ashok Kashyap, Advocate on behalf of Central Government

Read over and found correct.
