1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide - Statements

1984 Statements

Statement submitted before the Nanavati Commission

Witness No. 114

Name : Raghbir Singh

Age : 46 Years

Occupation : Business

Address : 43, Masjid Road, New Delhi

On SA

I had filed an affidavit before Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission of Inquiry. I am shown a copy of that affidavit, it bears my signature.

Cross examination by S.S. Gandhi, Senior Advocate on behalf of Delhi Police

I do not Punjabi language nor do I know English. I know Hindi and Urdu. What was written in my affidavit was not read over and explained to me but I was asked to sign that affidavit and I had merely put my signature on it. I had told the person who had prepared the affidavit about what had happened and what loss has been caused to my property.

I had told the person preparing the affidavit that when we had come out of the house for going to the place where our vehicles were parked and were being damaged the police had prevented us from going there as the mob of few thousand persons was standing. As a mob of about 2000 persons was standing , no policemen had fired any shot towards us.

Read over and found correct.
