1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide - Statements

1984 Statements

Statement submitted before the Nanavati Commission

Witness No. 149

Name : Jasvinder Singh

Age : 26 Years

Occupation : Government Service

Address : House No.2, Vikaspuri Extn., Nilothi, New Delhi – 110 041.

On SA

In addition to what I have stated in my affidavit which I have filed before this Commission I say that my father was being pushed out from the second floor. One of the neighbours had told the mob that he should be spared as he has small children and his wife is pregnant.

Thereupon some persons from the mob had replied that Sikhs had killed Mrs Indira Gandhi and therefore, the Sikhs should not be spared and these words were uttered by a person who was carrying a Congress (I) Flag. I was about 10 years told when this incident had happened.

Cross examination by S.S. Gandhi, Senior Advocate on behalf of Delhi Police

My mother's name is Mrs Gurcharan Kaur. It is true that my mother had given complaint on 18.11.1984. (S.S. Gandhi states that earlier a case FIR No.910/84 was registered at Police Station and the complaint given by Mrs Gurcharan Kaur was treated as part of investigation). The criminal case in respect of that FIR is still pending trial.

No cross examination by Ashok Kashyap, Advocate on behalf of Central Government

Read over and found correct.
