Witness No. 60

Name : Gurdeep Singh

Age : 64 Years

Occupation : Granthi

Address : 1/50, Gali No.4, Babarpur, Shahdara, Delhi

On SA

I am shown my affidavit filed in before this Commission. I identified the signature. I have nothing more to add then what I have stated in the affidavit. The affidavit is taken on record and marked as Exhibit No. 60/1.

Cross examination by S.S. Gandhi, Sr. Advocate on behalf of Delhi Police

I had not filed any affidavit earlier nor I had given any statement in respect of incident referred to in the affidavit. I had not made any attempt to find out who those two Sikhs were who were burnt alive near Durgapur Chowk. Durgapuri Chowk is 4 to 5 farlang away from the Gurdwara. I do not know if the police was informed about the death of those two Sikhs.

I also did not inform the police about this. On hearing the noises I and other had gone to the roof of the Gurdwara and from there we were able to see the Chowk of Durgapur that the mobs were coming and going raising slogans. I do not know if the four Sikhs were killed at Durgapuri Chowk and the police had come there, registered an office and arrested the persons who were found responsible for the same.

No Cross examination by K.K. Sud, ASG on behalf of Central Government

Read over and found correct.
