1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide - Statements

1984 Statements

Statement submitted before the Nanavati Commission

Witness No. 32

Name : Bodhraj, S/o Late Sh. Satyapal

Age : 70 Years

Occupation : Business

Address : 8/52A, Double Sotey Qtrs. Vijay Nagar, New Delhi

On SA

I am filing my affidavit today. It contains what I have state before the Commission. The affidavit is taken on record and marked as Exhibit No.W32/1.

Cross examination by S.S. Gandhi, Sr. Advocate on behalf of Delhi Police

I had given one affidavit to Mr Tytler in connection with this incident. In that affidavit also I have stated the same thing what is stated in this affidavit.

I had annexed with the affidavit a copy of the complaint which I had given to the police. Between 6.30 and 7.00 in the morning on 1st November, 1984 fire brigrade was there and there was no police.

It is not correct to say that the police had come in the morning. It is not correct to say that the police had ordered lathi charge and resorted to lathi charge to disperse the mob.

No body was arrested in my presence on that day. I do not know if anyone was arrested thereafter in this connection. I was still residing in the same place where I was residing in 1984.

No Cross examination by K.K. Sud, ASG on behalf of Central Government

Recalled for Examination in Chief

The fire brigade station was about 2 furlong away from my shop.

Read over and found correct.
