1984 Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Nanavati Commission

I, Varinder Kaur W/o Late S. Kultar Singh aged 31 yrs. R/o H 1/ 39, Vikas Puri, New Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:-

1. That in Oct./ Nov.'84, I along with my late husband S. Kultar Singh was residing at Y-630, J.J.Colony, Nangloi No.1, New Delhi.

2. That consequent to the death of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, a large mob of 2500 – 3000 people attacked our colony and burnt the local Gurdwara.

3. That a train from Rohtak side came and stopped near our locality and large number of people from Haryana alighted from the said train and they were seen leading the mobs and killing the Sikhs. They dragged my husband out of the house and killed him. Later on they burnt our house and also looted our property.

4. That I lodged a complaint to the SHO P.S. Nangloi, New Delhi dtd. 14-11-84 and I believed that on my above complaint an FIR No.351/84 was also registered. Copy of my above complaint along with copy of death certificate of my late husband S. Kultar Singh and copy of ration card are being attached with this affidavit.
