1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide - Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Nanavati Commission

I, Partap Singh S/o S. Surain Singh Age 75 years R/o H. No. 41-42, Gohind Nagar, Hissar (Haryana) do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:

1. That in Oct./Nov.84, I was staying at above address.

2. That my son – Satnam Singh Age 23 years was working in Delhi and staying at B-53, Sham Nagar, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi.

3. That on 1st Nov.'84, he along with his friend late S. Paramjit Singh were surrounded by mob near Police Station Anand Parbat, New Delhi and were killed there.

4. That death certificate for my son was issued on 25-10-88 but in a drentently the date of death was recorded as 1-1-84 instead of 1-11-84.

5. That due to this discrepancy in date of death in the Death Certificate, I have not been paid compensation for the killing of my son Late Satnam Singh. However, the widow of Parmjit Singh (friend of my son as stated in para 3 above) got death compensation of Rs. 3.5 lacs from the Govt..

6. I am entitled to full compensation for Rs. 3.5 lacs on account of death of my son Satnam Singh
