1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide - Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Nanavati Commission

I, Niranjan Singh S/o Late S. Gagan Singh R/o 13/348, Kalyanpuri, Delhi-110091, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:-

1. That I am victim of riots of 1984, in which my father was burnt alive and our houses were looted by the mob and was subsequently set on fire.

2. That at the relevant time I had been residing in the above noted premises along with my grand mother Gangi Bai wife of Sh. Pratap Singh and that premises also was looted and burnt, in that our household articles about Rs. 1.5. lakhs were looted, however, my grand mother has been paid only Rs.5,000/-.

3. That after her death I have inherited all the rights and liabilities of my grand mother, and presently I am residing in the same premises which was looted and destroyed by the mob of 1984. The compensation was not adequate and I am entitled for compensation of Rs.1.5 lakhs on account of the said losses.
