1984 Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Nanavati Commission

I, Jagar Singh S/o Joga Singh aged 70 yrs. now residing in Jhuggi No. 75, located between Block No. 11/12, Kalyanpuri, Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:-

1. That in Oct./ Nov.'84, I was living in House No.11/64, with my wife and son.

2. That a large violent mob attacked our area in the morning of 1st Nov.'84. I had a licensed gun and I was on the roof of my house.

3. That the Police came, arrested me and took me to the Police Station. They confiscated my licensed gun.

4. That during my absence my house was looted and burnt. I suffered a loss of Rs.15,000/- in household goods and another Rs.10,000/- in the repairs to the house. An FIR was lodged with the Police Station Kalayanpuri (copy attached).

5. That I have not received any compensation what so ever so far.
