1984 Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Nanavati Commission

I, Harbhajan Singh S/o S. Gurbachan Singh aged 42 yrs. now residing at RZ/123, Vishnu Garden, Delhi-18, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:-

1. That in Oct./Nov.'84, I and my family were residing at House No.1629/116, Tri Nagar, Delhi-110035.

2. That I was manufacturing tape recorders and 2 in ones. My factory was located at 3893/13, Tri Nagar.

3. That this factory was looted during 31st Oct./ 3rd Nov.'84 and burnt.

4. That on 10th Nov.'84, I lodged an FIR with Tri Nagar Police Station mentioning the loss of Rs. 1,55,000/-. (Copy of the FIR is enclosed.)

5. That I have received Rs.10,000/- only as compensation towards the loss - which is highly inadequate.

6. That I am entitled to compensation for the remaining loss.
