1. That on 1-11-84, afternoon a strong group of more than 1000 persons all armed with lathis, iron rods, knives etc. came to our locality. They were raising Anti-Sikh slogans like "Sikh Gaddar Hain" etc. This unlawful assembly was being led by the following: -

1) Harish Chander Jain, Ex-Councilor (Congress-I).

2) Tamman, r/o Kailash Nagar, Delhi-31.

3) Bali, r/o Kailash Nagar, Delhi-31.

4) Dinesh, r/o Kailash Nagar.

5) Hans Raj Gandhi, a known Congress (I), worker of the area.

I know all these persons personally because they belong to our locality. Myself am an active social worker in the area.

2. To save ourselves, myself and some other Sikhs perched ourselves on the roof of the gali wherefrom we could clearly see the illegal acts of the violent mob led by the aforesaid persons. I saw them looting / plundering the goods in the following shops: -

1) Shop of Teja Singh – General Merchants.

2) Shop of Jasbir Singh – Cloth Merchants.

3) Madras Handloom belongs to a Sikh.

4) Shop of Dyal Singh Bhatia – Cloth Merchant

5) Bakshi Soda Water Factory.

3. After looting these shops the persons stated in para (1) tried to attack the main Singh Sabha Gurdwara but as many Sikhs had sought refuge in the Gurdwara, the unlawful assembly could not do any damage to the Gurdwara.
