I, Gurpreet Kaur W/o S. Puran Singh, aged 39 yrs., R/o KC-22B, Ashok Vihar Phase – I, Delhi-110052, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under: -
That my brother S. Surjit Singh Jodhka (Laali) boarded Rajdhani Express frm Bombay on 1-11-84, for Delhi. He was expected to reach New Delhi on 2-11-84. But he did not reach home and it caused me lot of worry.
That I made enquiries about the whereabout of my brother S. Surjit Singh aforesaid but without success. However, on 3-11-84, one Suresh Gupta C/o Shri Durga Textiles, Sethi Cloth Market, Dr. Gujjar Mal Road, Ludhiana who was my brother's friends telephoned me that Surjit Singh was traveling alongwith him in the same train (i.e. Rajdhani Express). He further told me that all the Sikh passengers in the train were dragged out by armed people at Tughlakabad (about 15 – 20 Kms from New Delhi) which was not a scheduled stoppage and lynched by them. He told me that perhaps Surjit might have been hurt there and therefore I should enquire about him from Tughlakabad Rly. Station. He also told me that even though the Railway Protection Force was present there but they did not stop the culprits who were bent upon killing innocent people.
That I enquired about my brother from the New Delhi Railway Police Post and on 6-11-84, they showed me the photographs of Sikhs who had been murdered at various railway station and whose dead bodies had arrived by Rajdhani Express. From these photographs I recognized the photograph of my deceased brother. Photocopy of police report regarding FIR No.357 dated 2-11-84, P.S. New Delhi Railway Station is annexed herewith.
