1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide - Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Nanavati Commission

I, Davinder Singh, S/o S. Sharam Singh, aged about 40 yrs., residing at 20, Sanjay Nagar, N.D.-33, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:-

1. That in Nov.'84, I and my family were staying at 20, Sanjay Nagar, N.D.-33, for the last 20 years.

2. That my house was attacked at about 6 pm on 1st Nov. The violent mob looted our house and set the house on fire. My husband four children and I ran away and hid ourselves in the house of our relative, Kehar Singh. We stayed there for one year.

3. That I lodged an FIR with Adarsh Nagar, Police Station, for the loss of property for Rs.40,000/-.

4. That I repaired my house and shifted back to my old residence after a year.

5. That I did not file any claim for compensation.

6. That I have not received any compensation so far.

7. That I pray that compensation for the loss of property and the house be ordered.
