1984 Delhi Sikh Genocide - Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Nanavati Commission

I, Bimla Kaur W/o Sh. Shyam Singh aged about 30 yrs. R/o Jhuggi No. 11-12, Kalyanpuri, New Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:-

1. That on Nov. '84, I was residing at Jhuggi No. 11-12, Kalyanpuri, New Delhi, along with my family members. I also came to know the properties Sikhs were being burnt and Sikhs were also killed. Consequently we hid ourselves in the house of Mr. Ram Lal nearby our locality. My Jhuggi was also burnt by the said violent mob.

2. That on 1st Nov.'84, my husband Sh. Shyam Singh went to his work but he was murdered by the said violent mob on his way. I came to know this fact on 3-11-84. The body of my husband was never received by me.

3. That I went to my Jhuggi on 2-11-84 which was completely looted and burnt by the said violent mob.

4. That after this riots I immediately went to Punjab along with my family. I came back to Delhi accordingly I lodged a report to the police.
