1984 Affidavits

Affidavit submitted before the Nanavati Commission

I, Bhag Singh Saluja S/o Late S. Wadhya Mal aged about 67 yrs. R/o 11/24, Tilak Nagar, New Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under:-

1. That in the time of riots in Oct./Nov.'84, I was residing with family at 2A/11, Sat Nagar, Street No.7, Karol Bagh, New Delhi-5 and was also running a shop of Mica Electrical Goods under the name & style "Bhag Singh Mica Merchants" at the above address.

2. That after the riots broke out in the city, we left our house on 1st Nov.'84, and stayed with my son in law Dr. Deepak Sehgal at E-60, Greater Kailash, New Delhi.

3. That the rioters had burnt my Ambassador Car bearing No. DHC – 371 and looted all valuable lying at our house.

4. That I had filed a complaint of the above incident with SHO P.S. Karol Bagh, New Delhi, copy of which attached herewith.

5. That my shop was also burnt and looted.

6. That I suffered a total loss of about Rs.1.25 lakhs.
