I, Aasa Singh S/o S. Amir Singh, aged about 73 yrs., R/o T-1713-14, Desh Bandhu Gupta Rd., Karol Bagh, New Delhi, do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as under: -
1. That I am managing the Gurdwara Singh Sabha situated at T-1713, Desh Bandhu Gupta Rd., Karol Bagh, since 1950 and residing at T-1714, Desh Bandhu Gupta Rd., Karol Bagh, Delhi.
2. That on 1-11-84, at about 11 am, mob came to our Gurdwara and looted it and then burnt the same. At that time, I was staying along with my other family members in one of clean shaved Sikh's house of the locality. I also saw that police was helping the rioters. Police did not help us or any of the Sikh family in our area.
3. That in our area the following houses were looted and burnt by the rioters on 1-11-84, in the presence of police: -
a. House No.T-1712, Desh Bandhu Gupta Rd., Karol Bagh, ND, this house was belonging to S. Mohinder Singh. (One of the relatives was also set on fire by the rioters by putting burning tyre around his neck. This fact I came to know subsequently).
b. House No.T-1719, Desh Bandhu Gupta Rd., Karol Bagh, ND, this house was looted and burnt and their vehicles were also burnt.
c. House No.T-1704, Desh Bandhu Gupta Rd., Karol Bagh, ND, was also looted and burnt. This house is belonging to S. Davinder Singh and his family members.
d. House No.T-, Desh Bandhu Gupta Rd., Karol Bagh, ND, was also looted and burnt. This house was belonging to S. Harpal Singh.
e. House No.T-, Desh Bandhu Gupta Rd., Karol Bagh, ND, was also looted and burnt. This house was belonging to S. Amarjit Singh.
4. That police did not come to rescue any of Sikh family in the area during November 1984 riots. All of us went to the camp situated at Ajmal Khan Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi, of their own.
5. That I suffered a loss of Rs.1.73 lakh and received only a compensation of Rs.20,000/- in total. No compensation has been given by the Govt. in respect of burning of Gurdwara Sahib.
