Chohla Sahib is a town in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab, Chohla Sahib used to be known as Bhaini.
Chohla Sahib has 4 Historic Sikh Gurdwaras.
After visiting Goindwal Sahib in 1597, Guru Arjan proceeded to the village of Sarhali, where he sought to obtain land to build himself a home.
A Sikh of the village of Bhaini invited the Guru to visit him, and the Guru knowing his devotion consented. When Guru Arjan and his Sikhs arrived in the village of Bhaini it was approaching night.
The Sikh's wife saw that the Guru was hungry, but at the same time it would take too long to cook vegetables for his dinner. She therefore prepared a delicious dish of Churi (broken bread mixed with sugar and butter), and laid it before him.
Guru Arjan was pleased, he thanked her and said, "The name of this village shall now be known as Chohla." (that is, a delicious dish). Guru Ji would hold regular diwans at the site of Gurdwara Sri Chola Sahib Chohla Sahib.
Tarn Taran Sahib was first founded by Guru Arjan in 1590 AD. During the 1980s and early 1990s Tarn Taran Sahib was suggested as the capital of Khalistan, the proposed Sikh independent nation.
Gurdwara Sri Guru Ki Kothari Sahib which is located inside the town marks the site of the house where Sri Guru Arjan Sahib Ji, his wife (Mata Ganga) and a young future Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji lived here for 2 years, 5 months and 13 days.
Gurdwara Sri Guru Ki Kothari Sahib is also known as Gurdwara Mata Ganga Ji Da Asthan.

Baba Adli was a Gursikh who had the chance to meet and serve Sri Guru Amar Das Ji, Sri Guru Ram Das Ji, Sri Guru Arjan Sahib Ji and Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. Baba Adli served in the construction of the Baoli at Goindwal Sahib and of Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar.
Before meeting Baba Adli and Guru Arjan Sahib Ji, Bhai Bidhi Chand was a thief. His maternal village was Sarhali, a village in the district of Amritsar. The village was notoriously called as 'Sarhali of thieves'. During one theft, Bhai Bidhi Chand stole cattle from a village at night. The alert villagers chased him with long sticks, spears and almost killed him.
Bhai Bidhi Chand chose to change his ways and came into company of Baba Adli. Baba Adli took Bhai Bidhi Chand to meet Guru Arjan Sahib Ji. Bhai Bidhi Chand implored, 'I am a thief, please make me your thief.' The Guru smiled and asked him to leave his bad habit's and live life in fear of God, in service of the poor. Thereafter, Bhai Bidhi Chand became a devout Sikh of the Guru.
