Gurdwara Sri Sangat Sahib is inside the old Nanded town.
Its name suggests that a Sikh Sangat existed in Nanded since the time of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji's visit, or at least before Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji's arrival here.
Guru Gobind Singh stayed here on his arrival at Nanded.
The treasure found at Gurdwara Sri Maal Tekri Sahib was brought here by Bhai Dharam Singh and Bhai Daya Singh for distribution among the 300+ warriors accompanying Guru Gobind Singh.
The forces were demanding their long out-standing wages, so at this place Guru Ji distributed money to both his and Bahadur Shah's mughal forces generously.
Both the Panj Piaras went to Gurdwara Sri Maal Tekri Sahib where the treasure was dug and brought back here on bullock carts.
The treasure was distributed by Guru Sahib by the shieldfull to each warrior and still a part of it remained which Guru Gobind Singh ordered buried again near where it had been found.
The shield with which the treasure was distributed is still kept in this Gurdwara and can be seen in the pictures.
