Gurdwara Sri Jindwari Sahib is situated 14 km from Anandpur Sahib.

Baba Gurditta, the son of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, lived at Kiratpur Sahib with Guru Hargobind.

One day, Baba Gurditta unknowingly killed a cow belonging to an old brahmin lady at the site of Gurdwara Sri Jindwari Sahib.

Unfortunately, the cow was the only source of income for the lady. The lady told Baba Gurditta that the cow had a male calf who would be left unfed and may die.

Baba Gurditta used his spiritual gifts to revive the cow. When Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji heard what happened, he was displeased with Baba Gurditta.

Baba Gurditta accepted the mistake he made and moved to a lonely place outside Kiratpur where, at the age of 24, he simply quit his earthly frame. Gurdwara Sri Baba Gurditta Kiratpur marks the location.
