Gurdwara Sri Jhulna Mehal Sahib

Gurdwara Sri Jhulna Mehal Sahib is situated in the village Thathi Khara and is located 6 km from Gurdwara Sri Darbar Sahib Tarn Taran.

Guru Arjan would hold diwans for the Sangat to provide education and guidance on spiritual matters.

Once, while a diwan was in progress, the mughal forces of emperor Jahangir passed nearby. The mughal army had elephants, horse's and soldiers and the Sangat was distracted.

When Guru Arjan asked why the Sangat was distracted and what they were looking at, they said they were looking at the tall elephants.

Guru Arjan said he would build an object that would last longer than the elephants and created a short wall, as high as the tallest elephants, for the Sangat to climb and sit on.

Inside the Gurdwara is a Tham which was used in the original Gurdwara building said to be from the time of Guru Arjan.
