It is said that Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji visited this place during one of his tours of the region.

Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji visited this place during his tour of Malwa region. A Copper plate and a Seal have been recovered from here. On one side, the Copper plate bears the inscription - 'Nanak Tapa Ihan Rame' which means 'Nanak, the ascetic, visited here'.

The other side of the Copper plate has the inscription - 'Pehli Patshahi Chhemi Aae' which means 'the First Guru and the Sixth Guru came'. The Seal has the single word 'Nanak' written on it.
