Gurdwara Sri Chadar Sahib recalls a sakhi of Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji.
When Guru Nanak and Bhai Mardana arrived at the bank of the river Namada, the local Raja refused to allow them to cross the river by boat.
Guru Nanak asked Bhai Mardana to lay his chadar (blanket) on the water. To Bhai Mardana's surprise the chadar floated. Guru Nanak asked Bhai Mardana to step onto the chadar. Bhai Mardana obeyed, Guru Nanak and Bhai Mardana crossed the river on the chadar.
The Raja could not understand how Guru Ji and Bhai Mardana crossed the river, he asked for forgiveness and became a follower of Guru Nanak.
